Friendship in Lockdown
This is our historical pictorial of Sydney CBD during the 2019-2021 pandemic.
After Monte Luke Studio went into a COVID-19 hiatus and people deserted the city, Keith Friendship decided to walk the streets and parks to explore pandemic life in the Sydney CBD. The idea for an exhibition and book came from these meanderings and musings which made it into social media posts over the first lockdown in 2020 and then again during the 2021 lockdown.

Overseas Passenger Terminal
This is where the infamous Ruby Princess docked and offloaded almost 2700 passengers on March 19 2020. They were allowed to disembark despite suspicion of the presence of the virus and since then 650 were diagnosed with COVID-19 and 21 deaths attributed directly to the cruise liner.
The second half of March was a turbulent period of significant change. Within two weeks, Australia transitioned into a full shutdown.
